Helping K3 Dynamics NAV Customers

A letter from Ian Humphries regarding the K3 Situation

These are certainly challenging times we are all facing, so it gives me little joy when I hear that a major player in the Dynamics world will probably not survive these turbulent times. For me it isn’t just a business thing, it is also very much a personal thing.

It’s a sad time for the staff at K3, many of whom are old colleagues of mine as I was the founder of the business that K3 purchased in 2007. It’s a bad time to be facing redundancy and we will certainly do what we can to help some of our old friends and colleagues at this difficult time.

When we started The NAV People, we wanted to take a different approach to what we had seen in the market, we didn’t want to become obsessed with chasing new deals, we wanted to be obsessed with Customer Service, Product Innovation and making sure people who had already invested in Dynamics NAV (and now Dynamics 365 Business Central) got the most from their investment.

Fast forward over 10 years and I am really proud of what we have achieved and how we have helped the Dynamics community to better exploit their platforms. I'm also proud of the reputation we have gained for looking after customers and taking everyone on the technological journey that is suitable for them.

With almost 40 people working in our customer services team, we provide round the clock support for any version of NAV and BC, systems which are hosted in all manner of ways, using a wide array of solutions from the Dynamics Eco-System and almost all of which have significant degrees of customisation. It’s what we do.

When you are supporting over 430 customers and over 22,000 users, it’s critical we have the bandwidth and expertise to continue to provide the very best service. With over 180 Dynamics focused individuals we have certainly managed to build and nurture a team that are not only experts in their field, but also embrace the culture we started out to achieve; one of helpfulness and dedication to being the best and looking after each and every customer with the same level of care and commitment.

In a quiet moment we added up the years of experience we have in our business and it came to North of 1,800 years, that’s a lot of knowledge wrapped up into one happy and helpful business!

The attitude of everyone at TNP has not only helped us grow but also helped develop a program of free training for all, deliver a library of digital learning content available to anyone, and create the hugely popular Annual Dynamics User Day - a day focused on educating the community on where our beloved Dynamics platform is headed - we hope that we can continue to support the wider community as business returns to normal and be part of the rebuilding process we will all face.

I just wanted to finish on a very specific note for those customers who use the LS Retail version of NAV. When I started my original company almost 25 years ago, I did it with the help of a bunch of Icelanders, a new experience for me at the time. They brought with them a retail system they had been developing and we started to implement in the UK. They are a partner we have never let go and today we are the only Diamond LS partner in the UK (their top status!). Those same Icelanders.

Whatever happens, whatever choices people make over the next few weeks, I wanted to let you know that we will be here to help in whatever capacity is required. We have a company and a culture that I am hugely proud to be a part of and we would love to welcome you, but if you chose another path please remember that we are still always willing to help, after all, it’s better for us and for everyone involved in Dynamics NAV if we have one big happy community.

We are here to do everything we can to help, so please do call us on +44 (0)208 328 9818 or email [email protected], alternatively if you'd like to contact me directly, my details are below.

It’s only right to again say how sorry I am for the staff in my old company and to say how much I wish them well. If we can find homes for some of them, I’d be proud to have them work with me again.

Regards
Ian Humphries - CEO
