Dynamics 365 Business Central brings together comprehensive organisational information, automate manual tasks, connect processes and workflows, enable fact-based inventory management, and provide managers with clear visibility into business performance, margins, profitability, and opportunities for improvement.
Its flexible, modular structure enables the addition of new or custom functionality over time to match the growth and evolution of the business.
People who stock goods usually store these goods in a store room. If this is a large building then it tends to then be referred to as a warehouse. The level of control of this warehouse can be supported by Dynamics 365 Business Central in either very simple or a very sophisticated way. In a simple configuration, the stock is stored in the warehouse but the solution simply manages the overall quantity by Item. Purchase Orders are booked in, transferred to other warehouses or locations, and sales orders are shipped to customer.
With a more sophisticated level of control, purchase orders are booked into a receiving areas using handheld terminals (HHT), put away instructions are provided on the HHT, indicating the best bin location for the goods based on capacity and pick zones. Pick runs are generated by shipping agent, type of order and other criteria to enable efficient picking routes and shipment confirmation recorded at packing benches.
Finally, pick face replenishment, quality inspection and cycle counting can all be supported!
